Meet Carrie.

She’s eating with friends at her favorite restaurant and needs a drink refill.

It’s pretty busy and her waiter hasn’t been around for several minutes. She has attempted to make eye contact with a few of the servers, but they don’t seem to notice her.

Carrie has three options:

  1. Wait 10 minutes until her waiter comes to give her a refill.
  2. Get up and wander around the restaurant to find someone to help her.
  3. Or she can text “I need a drink” to the number on her table or to a universal shortcode she is already familiar with, bringing someone to her table immediately with her refill.
